Susan Anton, one of show business'
most versatile and popular performers, has been entertaining audiences,
worldwide, for two decades. She has delighted television, theater,
and film going audiences with her unique style, charm, and beauty.
Susan recently toured the US in
the highly acclaimed, Great Radio City Music Hall Spectacular
with the Rockettes. The show is currently playing in Las
Vegas at the Flamingo Hilton for an indefinite
run.
Susan performed on Broadway in Tommy Tune's, Tony award
winning musical, The Will Rogers Follies. For the last three
seasons she has been a part of the cast of the internationally
popular series, Baywatch, in the role of Jackie Quinn. She also
can currently be seen in the international series, Sail Away
with Susan Anton. Anton's other television credits include the
critically acclaimed Civil War's, as well as Quantum Leap, Night
Court, and Murder She Wrote. She starred in ABC's Cliffhangers
as well as her own variety show on NBC, Presenting Susan Anton.
She has displayed her unique comic abilities on: Gary Shandling's
Larry Sanders Show, The Ben Stiller Show, and Blosson. She is
a favorite in talk show circles and has pleased audiences on:
The Tonight Show, Larry King Live, Vicki, Sally Jessy Raphael,
Live with Regis and Kathy Lee, Breakfast Time on FX, Mike & Matty,
The Home Show, The Tom Snyder Show, Later, The Stephanie Miller
Show and The McLaughlin Report. She has done special segments
on CBS' Good Morning America ,
E! Television, and Entertainment Tonight.
Susan first emerged on the entertainment scene in the
film, Goldengirl and went on to appear in other films including
Making Mr. Right with John Malkovitch, and as part of an ensemble
all star cast, including Shirley MacLaine and Burt Reynolds,
in Cannonball Run II.
She first hit the Broadway scene in David Rabe's Tony
nominated play, Hurleyhurley, directed by Mike Nichols (Working
Girl, Wolf, The Graduate). Following that, she toured the US
with Evening Shade's; Elizabeth Ashley in A Couple of White Chicks
and also starred in the touring company of the Neil Simon/Marvin
Hamlisch musical, They're Playing Our Song.
New York audiences and critics lavished
praise on her sold out three and four week singing engagements
(September '90 and June '92) at New York 's
prestigious Rainbow & Stars. The New York Times described
her as “…a convincing pop/soul Artist…(who) reveals a strong,
supple voice along with an intelligent, well balanced interpretive
approach…she revealed a contralto register of dramatic resonance.”
Susan Anton's warmth and commitment to mankind is inspiring.
She devotes a great deal of time to charitable causes like the Special
Olympics, and numerous organizations of the welfare of children.
She has worked in association with a newly opened camp in Montana
for children with cancer, called, Camp Make-A-Dream. She was the
1992 Honorary National Crusade Chairperson for the American Cancer
Society and by popular demand was asked back for an unprecedented
second term for 1993. She continues her work with ACS today and for
the last three years has hosted their very powerful television special,
Profiles in Survival.
