GREAT AMERICAN FRONTIER & WILDLIFE SHOW REQUIREMENTS

 

SHOW DESCRIPTION:

Educational Historical Family Fun! Our Nations heritage comes alive through the excitement of Windham Mountain Ranch’s Great American Frontier Show…a tribute to the frontier people and animals that built America!

 

SHOW CONTENTS:

Wild Animals of North America

  • Show features black bears, mountain lions and timber wolves
  • Presented in a 40 foot enclosed arena, 2 times per day. Each show runs approximately 25 minutes
  • Demonstrates their natural behaviors in an exciting and educational way

The Animals That Built America

  • Show features magnificent draft horses, mighty oxen, Texas longhorns, cowboys and cowgirls, and the littlest and biggest horses, working together
  • Presented in a 50 foot ring and runs 2 times a day for approximately 25 minutes

Frontier Village

  • Featuring staff members in costumes interacting with the patrons
  • Live shootouts 2-3 times per day
  • Old Time Saloon featuring a hand carved bar, player piano, spittoon and also a photo gallery of old time cowboys. A few items sold in Saloon; Old Time Root Beer, Juices like Carrot and Celery Juice, Smoothies, natural snacks and water.
  • Sheriff office complete with Jail cell
  • Barber Shop
  • Blacksmith Shop
  • TeePee Display
  • Raising the barn frames using oxen power (interactive 3 times per day)
  • Ax and saw display identifying tools used to construct farmhouses and barns
  • Two person crosscut saw – patrons will experience teamwork while cutting wood
  • Oxen demonstrations (yolking, hooking to a long, basic training)
  • Team of horses (these are horses that worked the farm) Patrons will see the work these horses did in harness and have a chance to work with the team
  • Panning for gold – patrons will find authentic Fossils, Shark teeth, Arrow heads and fools gold

Frontier Kitchen (authentic prairie schooner)

  • Hands-on demonstrations of the Pioneer Kitchen
  • Kitchen consists of tripod, kettle, dutch oven, frying pans and utensils. Bean and biscuits are always on the fire.
  • Patrons will have a chance to become a Miller (grind corn) with the Grist Mill

Cowtown , USA Museum and interactive exhibit

  • Museum is housed in a 40’ trailer
  • Approximately 2 cows, 2 oxen and 6-8 goats.
  • Museum exhibit contains an old time creamery where patrons participate in preparing a cow for milking, milking by hand or machine and pasteurizing for a finished product.
  • Dairy goats (milking throughout the day)

* Will offer Pony rides, Giant Horse rides and will do covered wagon rides (if space is available). (Show will have the exclusive right to sell souvenirs without any participation in the proceeds by buyer including pony rides and items sold in the saloon).

* Will do one parade a day or participate in your parade. Also, will be happy to go off the premises for promotions (within reasonable distance).

 

SHOW SUPPLIES:

• Frontier Village, completed with teepee, totem pole, and frontier kitchen
• 2 Arenas for the animal presentations
• All necessary equipment, props and wardrobe
• Housing for all animals
• Lights for show arenas
• Sounds
• 8-10 crew members and trainers
• Show can supply bleachers with up to 500 seats for an additional cost.

BUYER SUPPLIES:

• Parking for 3-5 semi-trucks and 2-3 straight trucks with trailers on site, included in the show dimensions
• 2-4 people to help at load-in and load-out for approximately 2 hours
• Sufficient lighting for the whole area and water hook up near site
• (4) 110 volt, 30 amp breakers
• Bleachers for both show arenas (optional but preferred)
• Dumpster for animal waste at show site
• 12 Bales of good quality horse hay per day including 2 days prior and 2 days after event
• 3-4 bales of shaving per day or 1 loose, clean pile (depending on weather, may need more) including 2 days prior and 2 days after event.
• Logs for crosscut saw
• Ear Corn (approximately 5 bussels per day) for the grist mill (grinding of corn)
• 3-4 trash cans to be placed around the Frontier site, emptied daily or when full.
• Wash stations

 
 
AREA NEEDED:
220’ x 100’ flat area, grass or dirt preferred. Show can work on asphalt but a 4” layer of dirt will be required for the Horse Arena.
 

SET-UP & TEAR-DOWN:

3 days set-up; 1-2 days for tear-down

COST: $24500 per week with discounts available for good routing. Price does not include Cowtown and Wagons HO.
