MechWars
are competitions between custom built, radio controlled robots of
up to 375lbs. The competition is held tournament style with a series
of one-on-one matches. Thousands of ticket-holding spectators attend
each tournament.
During
each match, the opposing robots try to inflict damage upon, and
ultimately disable, their opponent. At the end of the match, the
crowd (and an impartial judge) decides which robot has inflicted
more damage on its opponent. The winner progresses to the next round.
There
are two weight class divisions.
