Photomural Tour, Artifacts, and Oval Office Reproduction

Entrance Arch

Twelve foot wide arch with marble columns serves as an entrance to the tour area and says "White House Tour”.

White House Transformations

Two large photo-murals show a cut-away view of the White House and show an actual photo of a bulldozer moving through the interior of the gutted White House during the 1950's remodel. Accompanying text tells about some of the most dramatic moments in the history of the White House. This includes stories of how the White House was first built, how it was burned down by the British, how a bathtub incident inspired the complete remodeling of the White House, and much more. All images are provided and are used by permission of the White House Historical Society.

Multi-Room Photomural Tour of White House

Several large photo-murals show some of the most famous rooms of the White House including the famous Lincoln Bedroom, the Blue Room requested by George Washington, and the East Room with it's amazing history. Accompanying each image will be signage and smaller images telling interesting facts and stories about each room. For example stories will tell how the famous Lincoln bedroom was actually Lincolns office and cabinet room. It will include the story of the beautiful Lincoln bed, bought for him by his wife, never slept in by him, but the bed where his son and future presidents would die. The East room will be shown along with smaller images showing it being used to hang laundry, serve as a camp for union solders, used as a bicycle riding area for the kids, etc. All images were provided and are used by permission of the White House Historical Society.

First Lady China display (12 sets)

Beautiful reproductions of the china sets chosen and used by several of the First Ladies will be displayed along with the mural of the China Room. Plates will include those of George & Martha Washington, the Lincolns, the Kennedys, and so on. Each reproduction is manufactured by the same company which created the originals.

Oval Office Reproduction & Presentation

The White House tour will climax with admittance into the most famous office on earth. The office will be decorated to look like it did when Ronald Reagan was president. Groups of 20 to 30 at a time will enter the 16.5 foot tall room which is nearly 40 ft. long through one of the doors. A docent will give them a brief history of some of the most interesting facts about the room and it's history then open the floor for questions. Each group will have between 5 and 10 minutes in the room, depending on the size of the queue line. At the conclusion, participants will be directed out through the door which would normally lead to the presidents private study, restroom, and lunch area.

Resolute Desk, President's Chair, & Art

A full scale, highly detailed recreation of the famous Resolute desk used by 8 presidents will sit in the Oval Office. The famous “secret door” added by F.D.R. and made famous by little John-John will be demonstrated. The chair behind the desk is identical to the one commissioned by J.F.K., built by the same manufacturer, and used by several presidents since. Art on the wall are authentic reproductions of historical art which actually hung, or still hang in the Oval Office and which are provided, and used by permission of the White House Historical Society. The carpet is a highly detailed reproduction of the carpet designed under the supervision of Nancy Reagan and used by G.W. Bush during his first year in office. The beautiful hardwood floor which Nancy Reagan had installed to replace the linoleum of the past has been painstakingly reproduced. The famous Remington bronze statues and Grandfather Clock which have graced the office of most, or all of the last several presidents are reproduced in great detail. Most of these items still sit in the actual Oval Office to this day.
